If it helps I'm using a xbone controller and he's using a 360 wired controller, but it was working just fne till I dropped the settings and didnt fix it when I put them back.Įdit- Have the controllers plugged in when you start the game, and use Player 1's to move around the menu then have Player 2's hit a/x or start button to join in.
I even put the settings back to the way I originally had them, did not fix it. If my buddy alone exits the match, my screen pops up as with no problems, but if he rejoins it goes all black again. While split screen pretty much works out of the box if you have two Xbox 360 for PC controllers, you are left hanging if you have only one such controller, or are using generic USB gaming controllers. Was experiencing lag\fps drops when a match would start, so I exited to menu and dropped setttings to lowest, which gave me the problem of all black screen for both players. You used to be able to press + at the menu with additional controllers to add players and play multiplayer split screen online or locally. As far as I can tell, local multiplayer is no longer present on the Switch version of Rocket League with the most recent update.
I'm currently having this issue, but it was working fine with all settings maxed out. PSA: Rocket League update appears to have removed local multiplayer.
